Workshop 1: Coding and registration: Central guidelines and recommendations and effects on local coding with a CNS focus
Welcome to a workshop aimed at those who work with coding and registration in cancer registries. During this workshop, we will learn more about TNM9 and the ongoing work on developing the ENCR-JRC recommendations.
We will also discuss the ENCR recommendations for coding CNS tumors and how the new coding principles have been implemented in Sweden. Various coding cases will be discussed to identify potential differences in practice between countries.
Workshop 2: Enabling the use of cancer registry data
The workshop looks at different ways of making cancer registry data accessible, starting with a short intro to the main approaches. We’ll get a bit hands-on with APIs—using the NORDCAN API as a concrete example—so expect some real data interaction.
The second half is more discussion-based, where we’ll compare different models like public statistics, self-service solutions, federated analysis, and secure access to individual-level data.
The overall theme is how we can enable more use of cancer registry data, how to balance privacy and usability in ways that actually work in practice, and what we can learn from each other.
Workshop 3: The future of cancer screening in the Nordic countries
The session examines emerging developments in cancer screening across the Nordic region and is structured in two parts: expert presentations followed by a panel discussion.
The presentations may e.g. address leading candidates for new screening programmes, advances in risk-stratification and targeted approaches within current screening programmes and opportunities for Nordic collaboration for programme improvement.
The panel, featuring one representative from each Nordic country, will discuss shared priorities, implementation challenges and a collective vision for future of cancer screening in the Nordic region.
