Statistics

The National Board of Health and Welfare publishes statistics in the areas of health and medical care (including causes of death) and social services.

The statistical database in English include statistics on Abortions, Acute Myocardial Infarctions, Cancer, Causes of Death, Deliveries, Diagnoses in In-patient Care, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) in In-Patient Care and How are you, Sweden?

To use the database, you need to have Internet Explorer 4.0/Netscape 4.51, or later versions, installed on your computer. Your browser must also:

  • accept cookies
  • support JavaScript
  • support Java 

You can make your own tables, diagrams and maps. Statistics are presented by year, gender, age and geographical area. You will find instructions in the program.The statistical database are intended primarily for researchers and statisticians.

In “How are you, Sweden?” you will find data on social conditions, lifestyle habits and health care utilization in addition to data on health, diseases and mortality. Data is presented also on local district level.

  • Adults with substance addiction
  • Care for the elderly
  • Family law
  • Municipal family counselling
  • Other adults in individual and family social services
  • Persons with impairments – activities according to LSS
