The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is a government agency in Sweden under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs.
Some of the functions of the National Board of Health and Welfare are transferred to a new authority, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) on the 1st of June 2013. This applies mainly to the Department of Supervision and certain authorisations. However, applications for a Swedish licence to practice, applications for specialist qualification and various kinds of certificates are not affected – you still turn to our Unit for Authorisations.
